There is nothing more satisfying and encouraging for a child than to receive praise for their achievements. Ongoing praise from a parent will start from when they are a baby. It will be for their first use of a potty, their first steps and their first words.
As a child grows up and starts school, they will lap up their parent's and teacher's encouraging words when they learn their times tables and pass spelling tests.
